Beginner Running Course Description

Our friendly and inclusive beginners 'Couch to 5km' running course is for new or inexperienced runners who wish to improve their fitness and gradually improve running ability to achieve a 5km run. 

Our experienced run leader Amy will lead a 10 week course which starts on Wednesday 21st February 2024 at 6:30-7:15pm and will conclude with a 5km group run.

Intermediate Running Course Description

Immediately following our beginners, there is an intermediate course for more experienced runners, or those who have recently graduated from the Couch to 5k group.

If you want to develop your running ability beyond a 5km distance, this is the course for you. Course leader will provide close tuition to help you improve your technique and progress your running distance to 10km.

Course Guide

  • Choose a course that will suit your style and ability. If in doubt, staff will be pleased to advise you.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and make sure your footwear is designed for the activity. 
  • As a courtesy to others and for health and safety reasons, please arrive 5 minutes before the class start time to set up. We will refuse access to anyone arriving after the class has started. The warm up is a crucial part of the session and reduces the risk of injury.
  • Drink plenty of water before, during and after the exercise.
  • Never exercise after a heavy meal. A light carbohydrate snack is ideal.  
  • Inform your instructor of any medication, injury, ante/post natal or illness that may affect your ability to exercise.
  • Never exercise when feeling unwell.

  • Payment for courses must be received at the time of booking to ensure your place is reserved. 
  • Payment via bank transfer as stated on 'Sign up Form'

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will only be given if requested in writing before the course start date.
