Part Time Receptionist

Weekends (16:30 – 19:30) 

Scale: S4-S7

Salary: £7.83 - £8.70 per hour

Please note: This is a temporary 6 month contract with the view to a permanent position in future.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for customers entering the centre
  • Dealing with customer queries in person or by telephone
  • Taking bookings for classes and activities, taking payments when necessary
  • Maintaining memberships using a computerised system
  • To advise customers and actively promote the facilities and services available

To apply for this role you must have strong communication and organisational skills and be able to deliver excellent customer service. Ideally, you will have experience of serving customers in a face to face environment. Basic computer literacy is essential to operate the centre’s computerised membership and booking systems.

Casual Swimming Teacher - ASA Level 2

Part-time

We are looking for an experienced Level 2 ASA Swimming teacher to provide cover for our Swim School on Sunday mornings 9.00-12.00pm - term-time only.

Casual Swimming Teacher - Level 1

We are looking for ASA Level 1 Swimming Assistants to assist our Stage 1 Swim School classes during term time. We require the following: Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:30pm, Saturdays 9:00am - 9:30am and Sundays 9:00am - 10:00am.

Casual Recreation Assistant

St. Mary’s School Sports Centre has an indoor swimming pool (25m x 13m) and a good-sized fitness suite. This development represents a massive investment by the School in its facilities, for use by the pupils of St. Mary’s and St. Margaret’s Schools and members of the public.

 

Job Description

 

Position:                      Pool/Fitness Casual Recreation Assistant

Salary:                         £7.58 plus holiday

Line Manager:            Facility Officers & Supervisors

 

Purpose of Post: 

To assist in maintaining effective operation of the Sports Centre within the guidelines of

St Mary’s School (Calne) Services Ltd policies and procedures. We are seeking to employ a Casual Recreation Assistant who will be a point of contact for members and visitors to the Sports Centre. The Casual Recreation Assistant will be expected to provide a warm, welcoming service, promoting a culture and ethos of health and well-being.

Responsibilities:

In conjunction with Recreation Supervisors:

  • Lifeguard the swimming pool and ensure any equipment required for specific activities is available and set up in correspondence with the swimming pool programme.
  • Be familiar with all front office procedures and cover reception whilst on duty.
  • Carry out daily routine pool tests and pool plant procedures.
  • To ensure visits to the Centre by members and pupils are enjoyable and assist with any enquiries or problems.
  • Act in accordance with existing check lists, cleaning duties and health and safety procedures relevant to particular shift patterns.
  • To provide first aid treatment when necessary, ensuring accident reports are completed when necessary.
  • To be familiar with all emergency procedures, and ensure that members and pupils are never exposed to unnecessary risks.
  • To wear correct uniform and use PPE (personal protective equipment) where required.
  • To perform any other duties that may be considered necessary by the Centre Manager.

 

These responsibilities are not exhaustive and may include any other reasonable duties as required by the Bursar or Headmistresses of the Schools.
